Bono & The Edge to perform on American Idol

Bono and his U2 bandmateThe Edge are in talks to perform on the grand finale of American Idol.

The duo will play their songs fromSpider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

“They are talking to Fox about how it would work,” a source said.

“Ideally, Bono and The Edge would perform and be joined onstage by the Spider-Man cast. If everyone agrees, with millions watching, it could be great for the production.

“It is still very preliminary conversations.Idol producers know they could get many top acts on the finale. It has to be what works best for their show.”
