Even as the hospital buzz centred around an ailing Rajinikanth, admitted to a Chennai hospital recently owing to breathlessness and fever gathered momentum… and fans went into an overdrive of fervent prayers and more… a certain Deepika Padukone, his co actor in Rana went about her job with finesse and equanimity.
Word has it that a solo song sequence was canned with DP, and that she filmed for close to 15 to 17 hours everyday and wrapped up her part minus any hiccups. Incidentally, Deepika dons a 17th century ’look’ with a South Indian touch in the film. Her dedication has thrilled director K. S. Ravikumar who’s been lauding her in panegyrics to media masses.
States Ravikumar in a tabloid chat, "Deepika shot for 70 per cent of the song and the rest of the number which is a dream sequence will be filmed with Rajni Sir and her in London. We also shot a few solo sequences with her. She was very professional, talented and a nice actor and a dream to work with."
The second schedule of Rana is expected to roll in July 2011. "Deepika will join us again in June 2011 for the shooting," says Ravikumar.
