AR Rahman Had Bought The Oscar Award By Paying

Bollywood music director Ismail Durbar has claimed that AR Rahman had bought the Oscar Award by paying for it.

This had stirred the hornet’s nest with several people in the film industry alleging that Durbar is making such statements for some cheap publicity.

On the other hand, AR Rahman has said that there is certainly no money involved in the Oscar Awards. He added that the coveted award is given with the consensus of about 3000 people and it is impossible to buy it.

The film fraternity has appealed to Durbar to refrain from making such comments. They added that every Indian should be proud that AR Rahman had achieved this feat by sheer hard work and hence should not doubt its veracity.

A Very Happy Birthday Tom Actor Karthi

Sivakumar, the rough and tough hero of Paruthi Veeran, is celebrating his birthday today. Greatly inspired by his father Sivakumar and brother Suriya, Karthi stepped into filmdom after a brief stint as assistant to Mani Ratnam in Ayudha Ezhuthu. After graduating from New York State University in Industrial Engineering, Karthi’s career began as a consultant in an engineering firm in Chennai. Soon, he grew tired of the job and joined director Mani Ratnam’s crew.

Ameer’s Paruthi Veeran script greatly impressed Karthi. He understood the hard work he had to put in for the role; liking the challenge and adventure involved, he took up the offer. His performance in Paruthi Veeran received wide appreciation. More than two years after his debut in Paruthi Veeran, Karthi’s next release was Aayirathil Oruvan. Though the movie received mixed responses, there is no doubt his performance in the movie was stupendous and the movie is an important chapter in Tamil cinema.

Then came Paiyya, a complete image makeover for the handsome hunk, from an uncouth rural youth in Paruthi Veeran to the utterly sophisticated software professional in Paiyya.

Suseendaran’s Naan Mahan Alla and Siruthai established him as one of the most bankable heroes in Kollywood today. Karthi is all set to tie the knot on July 3, 2011. The bride-to-be is Renjini, an MA gold medalist from Stella Maris College, Chennai. Renjini is the daughter of Chinna Samy and Jyothi Meenakshi from Erode district. His next project is a political thriller Saguni with Shriya Saran.

We wish him a very happy birthday!

Actress Kushboo made up her mind, to continue in the DMK party, after the defeat. But sources report that some of the party members, which include a cabinet minister, were against her presence in DMK.

They alleged that the actress bonding with DMK, paved way for the debacle of DMK party, in constituencies, where it was considered to be strong initially. They also add that DMK lost a major portion of constituencies, in areas where kushboo has campaigned, which is untrue.

Except for the karunanidhi family members, none of DMK party leaders were happy with the association of kushboo with DMK. But factually speaking, Tamilnadu populace were vexed up with Karunanidhi’s government and scams and so opted for a change with Jayalalitha taking the state reigns as the chief minister.
